Ok, justify this for me. I don't quite understand? Now, not only were several ER nurses made sick, the ER doctor spent two wks on the vent and months in a wheelchair; not mentioning, bleeding from the brain, which has now probably ending her career.
This case happened in the 1990'S, yet it is as relevent today, number one; any hospital, coroner's office, OSHA, CDC and Judge associated, not only mis-handled a family, treated this poor young woman's body so "uncaringly" and uprofessionally is a travesty in itself to say the least and kindest way I can verbalize my disgust for a profession, I have been associated with for 21 years , but it is nothing short of pure criminal, in my opinion as well!
Number two, what do you think will happen when Obamacare kicks in. I've watched the hospital lobbiest in Washinton closely. The worst, I will not mention because my check book is already f'd up enough!
Now, hear me closely, because I am now on medical disablity with Lupus and RA and could no longer run up and down a hallway for 13 plus hrs a day to give good care to my patients. Therefore, I no longer work outside my home and have no income.
I'm a writer, working on my first novel, but it has yet produced only money yet. Only because I haven't finished (please cross your fingers that once finished it will generate an income), I am an active blogger, which doesn't pay either, and I am trying to get a children's/ book illustrating business going, but it has yet to get anywhere. Oh, and I have 5 grandchildren with # 6 on the way, of which I could brag alone for hours about each of them! So, I don't consider myself a, lazy soap opera/dirty/grungy/useless person, (pls dont takoe offence to the soap opera mention. I have no problem with ppl who watch them). I just don't have an income.
Thirdly, I've watched the, larger hospitals in the DFW metro buy up the smaller making only maybe 4 (3 big boys), and #4 being the county hospitals, left holding 99% of the medical facilities today.
Now, I've also watched as they complain of reimbursements going down and I doubt that is false, but those with" good" ins make up the difference and how do they re-decorate three or four times in as many yrs or pay for a million dollar administration buildings and huge CEO, CFO, ...directer bonuses every yr? How do they put in these computer systems ranging from a couple million to multi-million dollars?
Yet, this woman should be alive and could have survived cervical cancer, not only doesn't get told she has cancer, but the whole investigation was botched and covered up from the get go?
So, yes, I too am one of those "hopeless, worthless, dredges on society, who is no more than a useless feeder, who only is adding to the CO2 emmision problem associated with "globel" warming and have no real use."
I was what you would consider a type A nurse and definately a patient advocate. I ran my body into the ground lifting, tugging, and attempting to give the best care to each of my patients I could; despite ability to pay. I believe healthcare should and is a right not a privilege! The last time 3 yrs a go I went to the ER, one teo nights in a row, to two different facilities because the first instead of helping me through my flare up crisis, gave me a shot and sent. E home. The second night, I was treated so horribly by the ER docter, given a vicoden, of wbich I had at home and could have spared myself the agony of having to waot, hurting and freezing in a waiting room) and had that worked, well my husband wouldn't have made me go in the first place. Then to top it off, a nurse who in my opinion, I have no idea how she passed boards except they must have dumbed them down since I took mine, not how she has a job! She gave me a shot of undiluted phenergan ( which by the way should be for every 1cc of drug 10 cc's normal saline to dilute) and nearly ruined one of my already fragile veins I have. I luckily recovered, but it turned black and thought I was going to have to have it looked at. Since then, despite some really bad flares, I've not set foot in an ER.
TO THE FAMILY AS A NURSE I GIVE MY MOST SINCERE CONDOLENCES! To the medical profession, it's usually not bad nirses, it's badly ran facilities! My advise never let your loved one go alone and always refuse to leave. Take care over them there as you would home, because you never know.
When the govt began having hospitals put in online computer charting, I was one who taught all the nirses on my floor how to use the new system despite my huge disapproval of the program. After that I believe I was pegged "a bad egg" by admin because of my verbal disapproval. Yes, I had a problem with millions of peoples medical records going online, but. Y protest was over it's irrelevance in the real world. It took up hrs in charting needed to give patient care from my perspective, but the final straw came wjen I was told well "I guess you can't be super nurse anymore" when I brought up its time stealing issue, but that has npthing to do with this.
A ypung woman, who didn't finish H.S., had kids, and OMG!, never marriege the, love of her life; tjerefore she wasmt worthy of being to one she had cervical cancer nor was the investigation pr her body handled with the respect Co deserved.
